The business insurance policy we offer is
underwritten by Australian Unity General Insurance Limited.
A company with over 160 year history in Australia with
branches Australia wide.
We have tailored the business insurance
product to be more specific to our client needs by offering
additional benefits that are rarely available in the
traditional market.
Australian Unity General Insurance share
our philosophy that shops within shopping centers pose a
better than average risk. Most retail shops in modern
centers are within a secured environment providing higher
than average security via centre alarms and patrols, lower
fire exposure due to ongoing maintenance and sprinklers, and
higher occupational health and safety and hygiene standards
due to shopping centres and franchise groups own standard
levels. |

Business Insurance Options
We cater for both short and long term
tenants in shopping centres.
Annual Insurance Policy - 12 months
We offer our clients a standard annual
insurance contract for 12 months. This is recommended for
all permanent tenants with lease obligations for 12 months
or more.
Short Term Insurance Policy - 3
months
We also cater for casual leasing tenants
who may wish to insure for a short term period. Our policy
provides cover for a period of 3 months and automatically
includes liability cover for either $10,000,000 or
$20,000,000 pending our clients request with $5,000
automatic fire & perils cover.
The premium for this type of contract is
non refundable.
Mobile Insurance Cover
If you constantly move between shopping
centres, we can cover your liability at these shopping
centres and issue you with a relevant “Certificate of
Currency”.
Shopping Centre Requirements
As a general rule most shopping centers
in Australia will not allow a new tenant to enter the
shopping complex or an existing tenant to continue trading
without proof of insurance supplied by way of a “certificate
of currency”.
A “certificate of currency” is a document
issued by insurers confirming a current insurance policy in
the name of the insured is in force.
Shopping centre management will expect
under the relevant lease agreement for each tenant, to have
in place as a minimum – Liability insurance, External glass
insurance and Fire & perils cover for fixtures and fittings
where the shopping centre has an interest.
